BTS's V Featured in Turkish Middle School English Textbook

The appearance of V from BTS in a Turkish middle school second-year (7th grade) English textbook has garnered attention. The textbook includes questions about V's real name, birthdate, occupation, the formation of the BTS group, debut details, debut song, and awards history, providing a comprehensive overview of V's journey.

 

Among the nine prominent figures introduced in the English textbook, seven are local celebrities such as singer-songwriter Hadise, popular actor Taner Olmez, and Turkish national volleyball player Neslihan Demir, representing various fields including sports and the arts.

 

Notably, alongside V, the textbook also features internationally renowned figures, including the brilliant physicist Dr. Stephen Hawking, showcasing V's global recognition.

V continues to be utilized in educational materials both domestically and internationally. In South Korea, he was featured in the revised edition of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education's 2019 Citizenship Education textbook for 5th and 6th graders, under the theme "People's Occupations," representing the occupation of a singer in the first photo illustrating the explanation.

 

Previously, the global hit singer Psy was featured, known for "Gangnam Style," but it was later updated to align with the changing trends of the times.

 

V has also made waves in American university classrooms. In September 2019, a U.S.-based college student was surprised during a cultural and fashion class when V's photo appeared in a PowerPoint presentation. V was cited as an example of 'beauty' in the context of non-verbal visuals during the lecture.

 

A fan uploaded a video of a fashion trend analysis lecture at an Indian university where V's Wikipedia page was used as a reference screen. The fan noted that the professor seemed to have memorized all information about V and even discussed the artistic elements of V's self-composed song, "Winter Bear."

V's Wikipedia page has ranked as the top Korean male entertainer on the Korean popularity page rankings. Additionally, since BTS's debut in 2013, Google has recognized them as the most searched K-pop artist for two consecutive years, solidifying V's status as a globally acclaimed star.
